Grunt Character Project
MISSION:
Design and construct an inventive humanoid character that would serve as common cannon fodder in games, otherwise known as a grunt. This character will be composed of polymer clay (Sculpey) and will be fully finished with colors and textures. The final product will also have some minor contextual details accompanying the figure (weapons, etc), but not so much that they overpower the figure.
NARRATIVE:
This is an adventure game.
My character is a robot grunt named nameless. He lives in a lost city with his big family, which have unique and ancient totem as their family symbol.
This robot grunt were human beings originally, but they have been cursed by evil forces. Therefore, after few years, a lot of the parts of their body turned to iron and rubber, but some of the parts still kept some muscles. Afterward, they modified their outside surface and added some weapons on it to fight others.
In usual, this robot grunts always sit on the rocks and hang out with their friends. However, they can be aggressive if someone provoked them, and they will become twice of their original size by using the totem’s power of the spear and the shield.

THOUGHTS:
It's my first time using clay to create a character, and I learned a lot of basic skills and useful tips. From my perspective, what the most important thing is confidence. Believing in yourself is always the key to success. Besides, you also need to be creative. When I create things, I think that it's a good way to find some inspiration from real life.
I changed a lot of thoughts about my robot grunt. Therefore, the final version is quite different from what I imaged at the beginning, but I really enjoyed the whole process and appreciated the amazing experience I had.
