Brainstorm:

This first idea is from the missing kid's perspective, the kid got lost in the swamp, and the Voodoo queen found the kid, then she kidnaped the kid in her basement.

The second and the third idea is from Voodoo queen's perspective, her family died when she was born but only left her the Voodoo hut. She felt so lonely every single day in this house, and she wanted to make friends. Then, she started to kidnap the kids in her basement, but the kids cried too loud and shouted to go home frequently. One day, following the dark magic's method, she decided to make them turn into a voodoo doll, but somehow they disappeared gradually. The reason is that the house was cursed, and it waked up when the time comes. It was so starving, and it ate a lot of children, only the soul of them remained in the hut
